about

The debut album by Phill Vidler and The Farseers, featuring "Letters", as featured on ITV's This Morning!

Combining indie synth pop with alternative rock, “Heliotropic” is a great departure from the lead man’s previous material. The folky acoustic guitar is gone, replaced with bold electric guitars and infectious beats that are guaranteed to make you want to tap a toe.

The lead single and title track of the album, “Heliotropic” is a euphoric scorcher of a song; the lyrics beg you to leave your troubles behind and to turn and face the sun, with a singalong chorus which is perfect for driving in the summer.

Other highlights include bouncy midway track, “Letters”, which is probably the happiest breakup song that you’ve ever heard; an alternative/RnB/industrial track called “Straight On Up”, with pages right out of Kanye West and Bon Iver’s books when it comes to artistic autotune; and “Offshore”, a funk/rock/synth hybrid which is a fitting end to Vidler’s self-produced work, with a huge climax and dense harmonies.
