about

Bit put off by the length? Here's the single album version: phillvidler.bandcamp.com/album/the-worlds-not-looking-single-album-version

This double album has been in preparation for two and a half years. Through countless tracklist changes, I came to this final lineup. Please do take the time to listen to the tracks, and if you like the sound of the songs, it's now free to download. The first album, tracks 1-10, is called "Exposition" and the second album, tracks 11-20, is called "Development", but the whole double album is called "The World's Not Looking".

WHAT YOU COULD DO IF YOU IMPORT INTO ITUNES AFTER DOWNLOAD:

If you import the double album into iTunes after downloading, I would recommend separating the two albums. Instead of tracks saying "15 of 20" they would say "5 of 10, CD 2/2". It's how things like "NOW! THAT'S WHAT I CALL MUSIC" work when they are imported and have 3 CDs. You can do this by right clicking each song, clicking "Get Info" and typing whichever convolution of settings they are. If I could set up the MP3s so they'd be pre-set, then I would, but Bandcamp only allows uploads without those kinds of tags. Or, you could just listen to the music. Your choice :)

Enjoy!

credits

released August 31, 2013

Music, Lyrics, Performance, Production, Engineering, Mastering, Mixing and Album Design by Phill Vidler.

Album photo taken by Tommy Reynolds at Under Siege 2013.

Guest Vocals on "Tea And Toast" by Claire Scholes.

Guest Engineering, on drums and ukulele in "Sometimes" and drums, vocals and guitar on "Jump", by Lucy Woodham and Jack Swain.

Special thanks to Dan Wise, Gwen Aslett and Greenacre Academy for the use of the Greenacre Music Department's recording studio, without which I would never have been able to record the bulk of the album; to Josh and Robin How for the use of their drum microphones; to Alex Heard, to whom I showed pretty much every song before it was finalised, acting as a musical advisor; and to Keith Nickson-Romagna, who saved me when I wasn't able to get into the Greenacre studio again, by lending me the equipment necessary to finish the album. I owe you all so much for this album.
